Personal Helpers and Mentors Program (PHaM)


The Personal Helpers and Mentors Program, (PHaM), is a strength and recovery centred program supporting people whose lives are severely affected by a mental illness.

The program caters for people 16 years and over who are willing to receive help for their diagnosis and to address any drug and alcohol issues during the course of participation. 

PHaM recognises that recovery does not mean cure and that each person’s recovery is different. Each PHaM’s participant receives a culturally appropriate service that is designed to meet, in the least restrictive way, his or her individual needs and personal recovery goals.

A Personal Helper and Mentor will:

Individuals are ineligible for this program if they reside in a setting which restricts, limits or reduces their ability to participate in the community.
